Our Story
Harbour Yacht Club & Marina has been owned and operated by the Ryan family for over since 1980. When I first bought the site, there was just one dock with 25 slips. Over the next two decades, I expanded the property, adding four more docks, bathroom facilities, a garage and offices. With the help of friends and family, we developed Harbour Yacht Club into a first class, full-service marina.
ANNE & JIMMY JIMMY & HIS NEPHEW MARK
In 1999, on a trip to Ireland, I met Galway native, Anne and it was love at first sight. We married in 2001 and life was wonderful! But on October 29, 2012, Superstorm Sandy hit and the area was devastated. Houses were damaged, destroyed or washed away. HYC suffered tremendous losses. We were heartbroken to see photos of our marina on national news reports, on the front pages of newspapers and in "National Geographic" magazine. In one night, a lifetime of work was wiped out.
We immediately began to rebuild. Friends rallied around, customers offered to assist in any way they could. Our incredible crew worked tirelessly in freezing temperatures, without electric, gas or running water. As often happens in times of trouble, it brought the HYC family even closer together. The marina reopened on Memorial Day, 2013, an amazing testament to all those who helped.

In 2018, we decided to further invest in HYC and the Jersey Shore and we began work on a new, state of the art, waterproof, 8,000 sq ft building, with a boat showroom downstairs and living quarters for the family upstairs.
The 4,000 sq ft showroom opened in 2020 and allows our customers to view our stock of Bayliner boats in a climate-controlled setting year round.
Anne & I take great pride in Harbour Yacht Club. We live at the marina, we work here side by side and we love to spend our summer evenings on the docks. We are so grateful to our wonderful crew and customers, our HYC family. You have made Harbour Yacht Club and Marina what it is today and we thank you.
